Faculty Details

Dr. Sonjoy Pan is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Division, School of Advanced Sciences & Languages, VIT Bhopal University. Dr. Pan received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from IIT Guwahati, and carried out his postdoctoral research at IIT Roorkee availing a fellowship funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and York University, Canada. He earned M.Tech. in Operations Research with Gold Medal from NIT Durgapur after pursuing M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Gour Banga, West Bengal. Prior to joining the VIT Bhopal, he was associated as Faculty with ICFAI University Tripura, and Swami Vivekananda University, Kolkata (holding the position of HOD). He organized a number of seminars and workshops as a Convener, and delivered talks at some Faculty Development Programs as an invited speaker. He has also experience of working with NPTEL-MOOC. He has more than 10 research publications in several international peer-reviewed/ referred journals of high impact factors. He has research collaborations with some reputed institutes like IISc Bangalore. His research interests include mathematical modelling and simulation, mathematical biology, stochastic modelling, statistical analysis, optimal control, and portfolio theory.
